After the POA Budget is approved in October by the Board of Directors, the assessment amount is determined and generally increases by 3% unless there are unforeseen circumstances.

The POA mails the annual assessments during the last week of December each year. Payments are due back in the POA office on or before January 31 the following year.
It is the resident's responsibility to contact the POA Service Center if they don’t receive a bill (843-681-8800).
Every property owner in Hilton Head Plantation pays an assessment fee, including those who own a lot, and also the golf courses and other businesses within HHP.
It is the responsibility of every owner to make payment on time.
Late fees will be applied if not received by the due date: 15% on February 1, 6% on March 1, 5% on April 1 and 1.5% on all remaining months.

Credit card payment: MasterCard or Visa only. Residents must pay the full assessment amount if using a credit card, even if paid in January.
Properties in another regime may incur additional association charges and fees.
The assessment dues pay for many HHP amenities, including: the Spring Lake Pool, clubhouses (Plantation House, Spring Lake Pavilion, Dolphin Head Recreation facility), roadways, leisure paths, community website, gated access, security force, and common property.
Capital Improvement Fee
Hilton Head Plantation property owners voted to approve a Capital Improvement Fee, which is set at one-quarter of 1% of the sale price of any real estate, to be paid by the buyer of any property within Hilton Head Plantation. The fee became effective on July 1, 2007.
