Before building your dream home or making any exterior changes to homes, Hilton Head Plantation property owners fill out an Application for design review, work with helpful staff, and apply to the Architectural Review Board for approval of their project.
Here are a few examples of what may seem to be minor exterior changes which may be overlooked, but should be applied for:
- Repainting and reroofing
- Changing or repairing your driveway
- Adding ornamental features
- Extending a deck or patio
- Adding a fish pond or fountain
- Extensive changes to landscaping
- Tree removal
- Installing a skylight
- Adding a window
The Review Board, along with property owner participation, helps maintain Hilton Head Plantation's natural beauty, protects property values, and safeguards your investment in your home.
As a courtesy, the Architectural Review Department maintains records of roof and house colors. We also maintain blueprints of most homes.
