The Plantation Covenants were created to ensure that this private, residential community would be protected and maintained for the benefit of all Owners and Residents. One of the functions of the Property Owners Association (POA) is to uphold the Covenants, Restrictions and Rules and Regulations specific to Hilton Head Plantation. Protective covenants guard against such things as inoperable vehicles & commercial trucks parked all over, the boarding of goats or pigeons in yards, and clothes hanging out to dry just as you have dinner guests.
The purpose of the Covenants, Restrictions and Rules and Regulations is to preserve and protect the aesthetics and the property values of the Hilton Head Plantation community.
The Architectural Guidelines are an integral part of the governing Covenants of the Plantation. They provide optimum architectural supervision that is consistent, courteous, and efficient for the community of Hilton Head Plantation. The Architectural Review Board (ARB) is responsible for and proactive in planning all aspects of new construction and renovations of homes on the Plantation. Its purpose is to maintain the type of home designs, general aesthetics, and color pallet appropriate to the Plantation. Prior to any new construction, additions, alterations, repainting, re-roofing and major landscape changes the ARB must give its written final approval and verify that all applicable fees have been remitted and permits have been issued.
The Architectural Review Board is comprised of eight members, the majority of which are property Owners, who have an interest or experience in construction related activities. For more information go to Documents and click on ARB Guidelines.
